Please check out my Prices page
. Answers to questions when Ordering
a Portrait. Do you
work from photographs?
I always work from photographs. For this reason, the quality
of the photos you provide me with are very important.
Make sure that the photos you send are a correct representation
of that animal. When taking the photos please ensure that
you get as close as you can to the animal to get clear
details. It is always best to get down to the subjects
eye level or just above and is also helpful if someone
is at hand to help and get the animals attention when
you are taking the photo. A full frontal photo is NOT
usually the best as you can get the wrong proportions.
How many photos shall I send ?
If you are sending photos I like to see a variety. I always
work from one main photo, and like to have others for
reference while I am working – the more the merrier.
All photos are returned with you portrait.
Can I choose my favourite photo
for you to use ?
Yes, I prefer it if you point out your favourite photo
of your pet. Why not use ‘post it’ notes on
the backs of the photos to tell me information about that
animal in that particular photo – i.e. good character,
correct eye colour or fur / hair colouring. This I will
need when painting or drawing. If you are emailing the
photos or images then the same reuirements apply. Also,
if possible please send me a clipping of the animals fur
/ hair as this helps to ensure that I capture the correct
colour. If I have two dogs,
should I photograph them together ?
No, it is best to take single photos of each dog, so I
can see the detail and then perhaps one or two of them
together so I can see the size relationship between the
animals. Can I email you my
photographs / images ?
Yes, you are more than welcome to email them. Don’t
forget to send them at quite a high resolution. Also,
please send ONE Photo by post that shows correct colour.
Can I send my images to you on a CD
?
Yes you are more than welcome to send on a CD. Also, please
send ONE Photo by post that shows correct colour.
Need me to take the photos ?
If you live within the U.K. and it is possible to bring
your animals to me then I will take a series of photos
at no extra charge. I enjoy meeting my customers and their
owners !
